LUNN DYNAMICS

Lunn Dynamics  //  Robotics & Mechatronics

Autonomous systems,
and the tools that build them.

I design multi-domain robotic platforms for ground, air, surface and subsea, and publish the engineering tools I build along the way. Free, live, and priced for Australia.

Learn the engineering before you spend the money

Six plain explanations of how the parts actually get chosen: sizing an aircraft, reading a motor datasheet, why watt-hours beat milliamp-hours, what an ESC amp rating means, servo torque and splines, and what autonomy needs.

Project Odysseus

Five robotic platforms across four domains on one shared software stack, building towards Chimera, a vehicle that both flies and swims.

Why this exists

01

Priced where you are

Most component databases quote USD, and lead times from somewhere else. That tells an Australian engineer nothing useful.

Everything here is stored in AUD, Australian vendors are checked first, and prices are refreshed hourly. Eleven other currencies are one click away.

02

It shows its working

Every figure traces back to the page it came from, and estimates are labelled as estimates.

Derived metrics name the inputs behind them. Compatibility links state the evidence that produced them rather than simply asserting that two parts fit.

03

It reads what others skip

Specifications are rarely where a scraper expects them.

This one reads manufacturer PDFs and spreadsheets, infers the column layout of thrust tables rather than assuming it, and runs OCR over the parameter sheets this industry publishes as JPEGs.
